在摩擦離合器前后軸上都有兩塊檢測金屬塊，檢測金屬塊也跟著連軸同步旋轉，在轉軸的側面各安裝一個接近開關，當接近開關正對這檢測金屬塊時，接近開關輸出側發出脈沖翻轉信號，電機的轉速與脈沖周期成反比，脈沖方波信號周期越長，轉速越慢。周期與電機的轉速有以下關系：

式中：n為電機轉速;p為電機轉一圈的脈沖數;t為輸出方波信號周期。根據公式即可計算出直流電機的轉速。對于一個轉速檢測系統來說，其關鍵在于能夠使測速結果在整個轉速范圍內的準確性和分辨率為并滿足快速的動態響應要求。主電機與螺桿壓縮機連軸兩側的脈沖信號同時輸入儀表設備。儀表在顯示各自轉速的同時，比較脈沖差，并根據安全生產和保護設備的需要，設備聯鎖保護信號輸入plc。如果兩路脈沖數量差別比較大(造粒機組設定每秒鐘脈沖差大于7個)，那控制儀表就認為是滑動，儀表輸出控制信號給plc控制造粒機停機，并在控制盤上發出聲光報。
