ETFE 是強韌的氟塑料,它在保持了PTFE 良好的耐熱、耐化學性能和電絕緣性能的同時,耐輻射和機械性能有很大程度的改善,拉伸強度可達到50MPa,接近聚四氟乙烯的2倍。
ETFE是一種堅韌的材料,各種機械性能達到較好的平衡——抗撕拉極強、抗張強度高、中等硬度、出色的抗沖擊能力、伸縮壽命長。ETFE是良好的電介質材料,絕緣強度高,介電常數為2.6,電阻率高,耗散因數低,僅為0.003。其低介電常數,在頻率和溫度變化的情況下基本恒定。ETFE的使用溫度范圍較實用較廣,恒定溫度通常設定為-65°C 到 +150°C之間,在超低溫時仍堅硬非凡,其脆化溫度低至-100°C。另外,ETFE還通過了幾項嚴格的抗燃測試,如IEEE 383,并獲得UL 94 V-0等級。對大多數化學物質的物理屬性影響小,對普通氣體和水氣的滲透性低。
ETFE(F-40)氟塑料來源于美國杜邦公司和日本旭硝子公司,主要應用于防腐蝕襯里。該材料具有聚四氟乙烯的耐腐蝕特性,同時又有對金屬特有的較強粘著特性,克服了聚四氟乙烯對金屬的不粘合性缺陷,加之其平均線膨脹系數接近碳鋼的線膨脹系數,使ETFE(F-40)成為和金屬的理想復合材料,具有極優良的耐負壓特性。
